Network Administrator

Description:We are seeking a Network Administrator to join our team!

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, Monday - Friday position. This position will require an On-call Rotation/Weekends and evenings coverage that will be rotated between team members. This is a benefit eligible position.

To provide advanced troubleshooting, development, analysis, and problem-solving for all organizational technology needs.

To effectively manage, support, and maintain network and communication infrastructure.

Design and develop technical infrastructures on large-scale projects.

Exemplifies, supports, and promotes the Midwest CareCenter mission, values and service excellence standards.

Consistently conducts oneself in a manner that promotes/markets Midwest CareCenter services, in an effort to increase census/business/revenue.

Demonstrates responsible stewardship of all Midwest CareCenter resources.
Duties:•Perform Allscripts application and database server upgrades.
•Install, configure, and maintain storage arrays. Ensure proper off-site SAN replication. Design, develop, and test equipment to ensure smoothness of transmission between sites.
•Serve as technical lead in major technology projects and rollouts, splitting duties with the Systems Engineer as assigned. Assist the Systems Engineer or other Network Administrators on large-scale technology projects as needed.
•Troubleshoot the VMware virtual infrastructure in the blade/SAN environment. Assist in the creation and deployment of servers. Install and configure new blade servers according to documented best practices. Create base templates for servers in a virtualized environment.
•Support and maintain the firewall, VPN, switches and routers. Perform firmware upgrades and change configurations as necessary. Test, configure, and analyze new equipment as necessary.
•Assist in the design, development, and implementation of the backup and disaster recovery solution. Support the Midwest CareCenter file system. Perform emergency file/email restores as needed. Ensure proper data retention policies and security permissions for file access.
•Interface with teams to assist in change management planning for major organization initiatives. Review and assist in the creation of IT policies. Continue to update current policies as appropriate to reflect any changes.
•Troubleshoot issues escalated from helpdesk technicians and network support technicians. Serve as primary technician for major enterprise applications and severity 1 and 2 critical issues.
•Mentor junior IT department staff.
•Read and synthesize material about new technology. Research new products to fulfill functional requirements for new hardware and software. Create business cases as necessary for purchase of equipment and implementation of new technology projects.
•Install servers and associated applications as necessary. Perform alpha and beta testing before go live of new products and software. Test server upgrades in a sandbox environment. Assist in analyzing servers for issues. Apply patches and updates as requested. Perform general maintenance and upgrade servers as needed.
•Ensure proper Active Directory and Group Policy management. Work with Systems Engineer to devise and implement AD and group policy structure. Perform security audits to ensure data and security integrity. Administer and create restricted access accounts for external customers as appropriate. Create/Delete new user accounts for Midwest CareCenter employees.
•Document knowledge based on experience with installations, upgrades, and day-to-day use of equipment.
•Support the VoIP network ensuring proper Quality of Service, detect and resolve routing issues, and work with our circuit provider GlobalCom during service interruptions.
•Support email Exchange server. Audit e-mail store size. Assist in developing policies to reduce size. Give assistance to end-users on how to reduce e-mail store size. Assist in the migration and maintenance of Exchange upgrades.
•Segment the network to provide network redundancy, eliminate single points of failure, and ensure the principle of least privilege is observed.
•Serve as a technical trainer for technology roll-outs and new-hire technical training as needed. Create curriculums and ancillary materials for trainings as needed. Continuously improve existing curriculums.
•Assist in vendor contract negotiation. Familiarize one self of contract obligations to assure vendors are meeting contract obligation. Do competitive pricing and negotiate with vendor to get best pricing for equipment. Interface with vendors to ensure service quality and explore potential improved efficiencies.
Qualifications:Education

BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Computer/network related certifications desirable
Experience
Three years experience with hardware, software, networks

Other Requirements

Advanced understanding of SNMP, SMTP, TCP/IP, UDP and other networking protocols
Advanced understanding of Windows Server 2000 and above
Advanced understanding of Windows XP Knowledge of DNS, IIS, DHCP, Active Directory Services, Exchange Server 2003/2007
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office product suite
Solid understanding of telephony and VoIP-Knowledge of switching, routing, VPN, servers, SANs, NASs, and firewalls
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills to speak with end-users and colleagues who have multiple levels of technical ability and understanding
Excellent presentation skills
Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
Experience in contract negotiation with vendors
Strong knowledge of hardware including, but not limited to, dumb terminals, IP phones, monitors, laptops and tablets, cellphones and smartphones
Understanding of VMware and other virtualization technologies. Experience with VMWare Infrastructure 3 technologies preferred.
Strong ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to adapt to change quickly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing abilities-High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently on sensitive projects with little direct supervision
Access to a reliable car, current driver’s license and liability auto insurance
